No other software comes close to this planner's capabilities

I particularly appreciate the tremendous flexibility and detail the planner provides in specifying investment mix in both conventional forecasts and Monte Carlo simulations.  This feature, and the ability to generate various “worst case” scenarios (e.g., major recessions) give me much greater confidence that the results are realistic.  Having researched multiple software packages, I know of no other consumer-level software that comes as close as the Relax Retirement Planner to the capabilities of advanced (and much more expensive) software packages that are used by professional financial advisors.

I Love The Instant Feedback ... Money Well Spent ... A No Brainer To Try

I was a little skeptical to pull the trigger as the website does not do justice to the full capability of the product.  It’s so simple to use that I really didn’t need to use the tutorial for the first week, which was enough to validate my basic plan and convince me it was money well spent!  I then eased into more advanced features.  I love the instant feedback from what-ifs and the Monte Carlo simulations. I now keep the application running in the background and update/tweak my data inputs bi-weekly. The try-before-buying feature makes the download a no brainer.

... Its "What if" Contingencies Differentiate the Relax Planner...

Out of the 5+ retirement planners (the poor “free” ones) I’ve tried, the Relax planner is, by far, the most comprehensive and easiest to use/understand. The planner’s ability to easily model several types of “what if” contingencies is a key differentiation from other planners, and one that is necessary if you are serious about finding any “pot holes” in your financial planning. Another customer’s review on this site stated “this is the one you want” and he is correct!

I Use a Financial Advisor... the Relax Planner Provides a Second Opinion

I use a personal financial advisor, but I also like doing my own analysis for a second opinion. Last year The Relax Retirement Planner was telling me I was in good shape until my wife and I were past age 100. However, this year (2022) all the markets took a dive. What did this do to my retirement? Since the Relax planner allows me to model for various market conditions, it told me everything was OK. What if I changed the inputs to reflect the current value of my investments? Well, it still showed that things were fine. What I especially like are the reports and charts showing where your income is coming from each year. Not many products show this in detail.

Comprehensive and complete ..

What has impressed me the most is how comprehensive and complete this software is, especially when compared to the virtually worthless “free” calculators that I have tried. The free ones just take a couple of inputs and spit out a number. The level of detail on this planner is quite high, which makes it a complete planner, but it is still very intuitive and easy to use. I am very pleased with the product and highly recommend it to anyone interested in planning their retirement needs.

Since the Relax Planner takes into account more financial inputs than the other calculators I’ve tried, it provides what I consider to be a more accurate and complete picture of my future finances. In addition, this is the first calculator I’ve seen that has both a Monte Carlo simulation and allows you to enter your own estimate of annual returns. If you are serious about calculating your future financial condition, this is one you want.

I can test any "what-if" scenario

I appreciate the flexibility of this tool. It quickly gives me a picture of our future finances by easily entering key information. When I want to do some detailed modeling, the tool allows a more comprehensive view by supporting stress tests (down markets) or estimated large “1-Time” expenditures, things I have not found in other calculators. I can now test any “What If” scenario I need. I think this tool is straight forward and worth the price.

I found this tool to be very easy to use. It takes into consideration all of the pertinent factors and does all of the legwork for you. I love that it factors in what state you live in and allows you to decide when you plan to take social security, since these things matter. Then, it gives you a clear, concise answer to the question we are all asking “How long will my money last”. No more guessing. The Relax retirement planner is well worth the money, as I can plan my financial life with much more accuracy than ever before.

Easy to use even if you know nothing about finances

A great tool

I have tried to find affordable programs that would assist me in determining the answer to this nagging question but they always seemed cumbersome, expensive and geared towards financial professionals. This planner is plug and play...

I am 60 yrs old, and was wondering if I could quit working in 2 years given my amount of savings and spending. I have tried other calculators that supposedly answered the questions but they were cumbersome, and not very complete. This planner is plug and play—just enter your data. I can change the assumptions and see the impact on my savings — in color. This helps with long term planning better than any other calculator I have tried.
